My real first name is spelled Bilgudei. It's Mongolian and I am named after the brother of our hero Ghengis Khan. My parents immigrated to the U.S. when I was 10 to Queens New York, where I grew up. And everyone always called me Bill Goody. So my first name is actually Bill Goody :)
My dad was a big fish enthusiast and I had them growing up. During high school, I even used to volunteer at my local Petland after school. I was so hooked on fish tanks and just wanted to talk to everyone about aquariums. And through the years I've worked at Petland, Petco and Fishtown (the biggest aquarium store in New York City). The latter being my latest.
Before I left I was taking care of the reef system and I will always be thankful for Fishtown for giving me the knowledge, skills and confidence to become a master at my craft.
I started setting up and maintaining aquariums a few years back and it has really been a fun journey. I've worked with some great companies on different photo shoots (Oprah's magazine "O", Calvin Klein) as well as set up beautiful aquariums for Hugo Boss, Saks Fifth, Quad studios etc. I also have had the pleasures of meeting some prominant people. I can't go into too much details but I will say among with the doctors and lawyers, there are broadway stars and other prominent actors who use my service.
I do not set up regular fish tanks where the fish are only surviving, but complete eco systems where the fish are thriving.
